french architect jean nouvel has translated his knowledge of the built environment to a smaller scale for ‘mia’, a stackable chair for italian manufacturer emu. the simplicity of the form is emphasized by the angle of the legs and arms, as they are visually balanced by the linear quality of the individual parts. the laser-cut aluminum seating object can be used in any environment, including the outdoors since the material is suitable for all weather conditions. the collection includes both circular and square tables with fold down tops of galvanized sheet metal. ‘mia’ was on show at salone del mobile during milan design week 2012.
