blue iris named colour of the year



the global colour authority, pantone has selected their colour of 2008. the color of choice is '18-3943 blue iris',
a hybrid blue-violet that is according to pantone, 'a multifaceted hue reflecting the complexity of the world that
surrounds us'. leatrice eisenman, executive director the pantone colour institute chose the shade because she
feels it represents the colour direction of fashion, cosmetics and home products. explaining that, 'blue iris brings
together the dependable aspect of blue, underscored by a strong, soul-searching purple cast'.
