rootote is a japanese brand which specializes in the production of carrier bags, but with the intention of taking the functional tote and making it more compelling and fun to use on a daily basis. tokyo and milan-based studio nendo has recently collaborated with the company to create ‘roopuppet’. the most distinctive feature of rootote bags is the small pocket located in its side which remains the same throughout each of the styles. nendo thought to extend the characteristic pocket out from the design of their bag, turning it into a puppet which comes in four different versions: a kangaroo, bear, human and dinosaur.
