pet bottle shredder

pet bottles are a ubiquitous product that has become some what precious. in portugal,
bottle collectors known as 'catadores', collect pet bottles and other kinds of waste from
the street for profit. others are trying to find new uses for the material. recycling pet bottles
to make pieces of art or design is one of these new avenues. designer takashi utsumi saw
the potential in the material for making small crafts, so he designed the 'filetador'
a pet bottle shredder. the device quickly shreds the bottles into various thicknesses ready
for making crafts. the DIY device proves that design can be found in many places beyond
the final product.
