playing off the characteristics of sand and water absorption on the beach, barcelona-based designer victor castanera has developed a series of bowls made from casting plaster over naturally created divots in the ground. reflecting over the idea about the speed of current industrial production and the social consequences that this entails, the project embraces naturally occurring systems in place that provide unique situations for creating sustainable and alternative manufacturing processes.

by only utilizing fundamental resources without contamination or machinery, the tableware demonstrates the ability for showcasing spontaneously occurring forms and outcomes. as a result, each bowl takes on a variety of shapes and sizes dependent on the environment and its effects.
