‘light au lait’ by ingo maruer and fabien dumas

as the name implies, the form of the ‘light au lait’ lamp involves a cup, saucer and spoon to create a whimsical wall-mounted lamp, blurring the boundary between art and functional design. the drinking vessel acts as the main shade of the lighting piece, connected to the saucer by a movable arm, allowing the user the adjust its position horizontally or vertically. designed by ingo maurer and fabien dumas, the object emphasizes the characteristics of the coffee cup in a new and unexpected way. already available in a white version which offers the elegance of a boutique café or chic restuarant, dumas is currently experimenting with some new color variations such a ‘black traffic’ and ‘brown fawn’, whose schedule of production is still to be determined.
