‘pilot stool’ by patrick rampelotto + fritz pernkopf

austrian designers patrick rampelotto and fritz pernkopf have developed ‘pilot stool’ for belgian label quinze & milan. produced using polypropylene foam with a special manufacturing technique from austrian mechanical engineering company hammerschmid MB, the seat pan is formed at a temperature of 140 degrees celsius. since the three-dimensional material is processed within seconds of being pressed, it quickly solidifies creating a translucent appearing surface quality from the hardening process.

coming in both black and white colorways, the flat pack furniture piece is easily assembled by threading together its four oiled european oak wooden legs. the ‘pilot stool’ is available in three different height variations – kitchen, bar and standard.
