the ‘newspaper light’ is composed of strips of old journals which are adhered into layers for structural stability using a papier-maché technique. the pendant lamp utilizes energy-saving high brightness LEDs for illumination, completed by either a white or metallic internal finish, and treated with a fire-safe coating. the design accompanies watson’s ‘read-all-about-it’ stool also made from 100% recycled newspapers that have been woven into a cube-shape and stuffed with the very materials from which it is constructed. if you choose to use your hands, the designer also provides instructions on how to make your very own.

kicking off his old socks, watson applies his foot garments into hanging light pieces which are treated with a sunflower-based eco resin. the texture of each clothing article offers an ethereal glow created from the variation and intricacy of the socks’ weave patterns diffusing their LED light sources. available in two sizes – regular (100mmØ x 350mm long) and large (100mmØ x 450mm long), the socks are originally sourced from jay’s own wardrobe, however, customers can supply their very own for more bespoke pieces.
