ben hopson's kinetic letter machines

brooklyn based designer ben hopson created this project to develop methods for sketching motion concepts.
his 'simplify' series explored kinetic motion using the letter of the word 'simplify'. each letter was dissected and
brought to life through a series of mechanics that animated the letter exploding, spinning and returning
to their letter form. the concept was originally developed for a television commercial. make sure to watch all
the videos on hopson's website, and note that the project ended before he completed the letter 'm'.
