'sitooterie II' by heatherwick studio

'sitooterie II' is a light installation by heatherwick studio commissioned by the national malus
collection located in essex, UK. the structure takes its name from the scottish term 'sitooterie'
which is a small building for sitting out. heatherwick studio re-imagines the 'sitooterie' as
a cube punctured by 5,000 long windows which emit light. the project is made from anodized
aluminum and the windows are tubes glazed with a transparent orange acrylic. inside the
central cube one light source illuminates all the windows. a few of the tubes provide seating.
