buckminster fuller at the whitney museum

buckminster fuller has come to be known as one of america's great visionaries
of the twentieth century. with an environmentally conscious mind, he aimed to find
design solutions that would help humanity face the challenges that were coming
before them before they became uncontrollable. working in projects that deal with
the areas of architecture, visual arts, literature, mathematics, engineering and
sustainability, buckminster fuller's goal was to view these areas collaboratively,
rather than addressing them as separate entities.



on view is a collection of over five decades of fuller's approach toward design
and technology that surrounds housing, transportation, cartography
and communication.
