sitting in a field in the dutch country side, ‘watchhouse brita’ is the latest collaboration between jurgen bey
and rianne makkink. the small house is made from wood and straw. inside a desk and chair sit on top of
some straw bails and a blanket and pillow denote a bed. the house is only one of 13 projects that are part
of the ‘vijverberg vi’ exhibition in tytsjerk. the exhibit is curated by dutch art historian ankie boomstra,
who personally selected the 13 participating artists. the works on show were primarily designed for this
exhibition. the show and all the projects are all based on the theme of ‘time is short and definite, derived
from the sundial in the park.’
