‘mild green malaysian’, jewelry to hug (2008)

janine arnold’s work looks to jewelry as an extension of the body. her designs celebrate the interplay of wearable jewelry and autonomous objects. each piece is slightly disassociated from its original function which leads to the development of new stories and ideas beyond what jewelry is in the traditional sense. she has created pieces which encourage interaction between the wearer and their jewelry through actions such as hugging or balancing.
