NOCC is the design partnership of juan pablo naranjo and jean-christophe orthlieb. their design of the
‘help me darwin’ kit will be featured in the ‘talent 2008’ exhibit at designhuis in eindhoven for dutch design
week and will remain on show from october 18 – november 30th. the furniture set was inspired by
applying darwin’s theories of evolution to furniture. the emergency kit features the basic necessities like
a bed/folding screen, 2 stools and a table all folded neatly into a carry-on bag. the bag itself even converts
into the bed’s mattress. the project of transforming furniture is designed to help add a human dimension
to people’s environment in emergency situations.
