That yellow one in the middle I'll bet is The Partridge Family. I actually have that one.

That's cool, I have so many colorful mixtapes that would be lucky to meet and end like this instead of being dumped into the garbage.
btw, re: jake, what the hell? What's wrong with people on the Internet? If you nothing positive or constructive to say keep it to yourself, don't poison everything with your negative comments.

Jond 10.20.08
are you guys kidding me.. this is good shit, plus it's a nice way of recycling old tapes that would probably otherwise be thrown in the trash...

I am not a fan of garbage-as-art, but to each his own.

Ordinarily I wouldn't comment, but I feel like balancing out the depressing, cynical stupiditude of the majority of other commenters.
I think this is pretty cool. A nice bit of lateral thinking, with enough screen-presence to make people say "wow, look at that" - as born out by the fact that it got onto the front page of Digg.
Nice one.

I hate the way you just know he thinks he's going to be the next big thing. This is absolutely terrible and should not be considered as art. it's not smart and it's not creative. What a moron.
Dev 10.21.08
I fail to see how this would be classified as uncreative. It is something out of the norm, taking an object from its normal surroundings and redefining them. It is absolutely creative, and you're probably just pissed off that you didn't think to do it first.
GNBR 10.21.08
Haha. some people have had too much Hatorade. If they would only just look into a project first, to see what it is really about, if it was meant as art, or just as a DIY project for own use.

So how am I going to play my tapes still?
bexta 10.21.08
Jond sayd:
"fuck that. dont ruin tapes like this! record a new mix over them and give them to a friend!!"
Who uses tapes anymore? tapes are far away from the quality you can get from digital music (cd or internet download)
I think its now almost a year when no newer tapes came out, all is on cd-s now.
I have enough cd-s to do something like it.. maybe even cover a whole wall with them or room.

Learn something more creative other than "non epic" before putting down something as creative as this.
Saying 10.21.08
Brilliant. Absolutely fucking brilliant. Repurposing the outdated is so much better, so much more CREATIVE than pitching it in the garbage.
Xaos Bob 10.21.08
That's awesome! It's creative, cool looking (IMO), and saves plastic (which just sits and does nothing) from the trash! Tapes eventually stop working after you play them too much anyways.
Tisi 10.21.08
Would you pay over 5K for this closet? That's what it cost to buy those 918 cassettes 30 years ago. adjust for inflation and you could buy your own recording studio for the same price!
the dog 10.22.08
Screw all of you haters. If I had the money... I would buy it. If you wouldn't... then just don't. Would indeed be a cool thing to be able to play the tapes though. I'm off for now...
