abandoned oil drums are the core material of stanker design’s furniture

stanker design started in paris in 2003 in the basement of graphic designer françois royer, when he combined an old oil barrel with the wheels of a shopping cart. since then, royer has been designing tables, chairs, barbecues, shelves and lights made from discarded oil drums. based on a philosophy of recycling and the economic use of materials and production methods, royer’s work tries to maintain the aesthetics of an object while still being kind to the environment.
