‘closely separated vase’ by michael geertsen
‘closely separated vase’ by michael geertsen

designer michael geertsen created his closely separated vase from the danish design company muuto.
the design uses stacks of dishes as a reference point. the 27cm vase is made from fine faience and
available in white and yellow. geertsen states, ‘abstract bowls, plates and cups are merged in an intuitive
way. reminding us of the beauty in disharmony and how old things can lead to new, if we change our
perspective. the object works on its own, but is given a function if flowers are added.’ this theme is
common in many of geertsen’s ceramic works both artistic and functional.
