jewelry designer anthony roussel
jewelry designer anthony roussel

the combination of drawing and architecture is a re-occuring theme in the work of designer anthony roussel.
his sculptural objects which can also be worn as jewelry, incorporates delicate flowing lines which follow
a particular pattern or rhythm. to create this effect, roussel uses laser cut pieces of sheet material,
often in repetitive patterns to build up the flat elements into three-dimensional forms inspired by the intricate
rock formations found within the british coastline. his works are made from wood, which he uses because of
its tactile and symbolic qualities. roussel's jewelry pieces question ideas of preciousness with the chosen
material from which they are made, while his use of new technologies questions people's perceptions of craft.
