korea is largely considered as one of the most rapidly developing industrialized countries in asia.
however, it is less well known internationally that korea has a distinct culture, rich in artistic
and technological accomplishments. this exhibition celebrates the country’s cultural diversity
and primarily focuses on the aesthetic principles and technological achievements epitomized in
contemporary korean art, architecture and design.

as part of the 'seoul design olympiad' 2008 designboom curated the exhibition 'seoul design essence'.
the exhibition consisted of 6 sections that included:

historic korean folk craft
contemporary korean arts and crafts
contemporary korean art
young contemporary korean design
contemporary korean industrial production
contemporary korean architecture
