‘skinterior’ by cris bartels

no 1 ( beige ) & no 2 ( light brown )

for his 2007 graduation project dutch designer chris bartels designed and made this series of furniture
inspired by the thin haute-couture models. titled ‘skinterior’, the series takes cues from the models,
focusing on the dominant clothing (upholstery), not the fragile body (plastic structure). the project
started with the textile mould and the plastic interior structure was a secondary concern. the results
are tiny almost clumsy shapes that are very strong despite their wispy appearance. bartels hopes
this will evolve in new ways in the future.

How is this ripping of Baas' work? Do you even understand this concept? No sir, the "Shame" is all over you actually.

Thank you for your comment mr. lol but there is a huge difference between forcing a material to look like this ( by shaping epoxy clay for days around a crooked wire frame ) or just letting the shape 'happen' ( by using plastics in a textile mold and putting it in an oven ).

I do understand you comment because Clay by Maarten is absolutely beautiful.
