‘out of sight out of mind’ by thomas broen

the ‘out of sight out of mind’ desk concept is the creation of danish designer thomas broen. the workstation
is designed under idea that a user is most efficient when things are properly organized and the desk is clear.
in this case the desk uses a series of drawers and bins that fit into the surface of the desk and conceal loads
of storage. the desk also helps manage paper and computer work, fitting the needs of both functions.
instead of piling stacks of work on the desk, broen moved the storage into the desk, allowing great
efficiency because the documents are closer at hand and better organized. the desk even takes david allen’s
‘getting things done’ theory of organization into account. all these measures to help organize your work
should in theory help prevent clutter, however reality is a whole different ball game.
