stockholm design week 09: forum AID awards

designboom is currently in stockholm covering the furniture fair.
last night the annual forum AID awards honoring the best in nordic architecture,
interiors and product design was held at the rival theatre in stockholm. the awards
are given out by the quarterly design magazine 'forum AID'. this year's award for
architecture went to danish firm BIG (bjarke ingles group) for their 'mountain dwellings' project,
for interior the award was given to katrin olina petursdottir from iceland for 'cristal bar'
and the design award was given to oskar zieta for his 'plopp' stool made for hay denmark.
daniel rybakken of norway received the best student work award for 'subsconscious
effect of daylight'. the award show was a great event that highlighted the high quality
of work emanating from the nordic region.
