tiny books by thijs verbeek

thijs verbeek is the amsterdam based designer who you may remember as the creator of the painful-looking
clothespin typography we featured a year ago. verbeek recently got in touch with design boom regarding
one of his latest projects, a self-promotion book which isn’t what you expect. verbeek made two little books
with images of his work inside that measure 85 x 60mm and 44 x 30mm respectively. the small books each
have 142 pages in their lilliputian format. to further make the books stand out, the designer hid a 2mm think
stainless steel plate inside the cover. this little piece of metal makes the books ten times their original weight,
grabbing people’s attention with the unexpected load. in dutch, the cover reads 'recommend mr. verbeek
to your acquaintances'.
