tom dixon will launch his new collection as part of milan design week 09.
here is a preview of the products that will be on display. utility is the theme
of dixon's exhibition this year. the new pieces include 'pressed glass', 'spot tables',
'block table', 'spot tables' and 'screw tables'.


'screw table'

'screw table' is made from one heavy cast iron tripod and a solid
marble top. the industrial strength aluminum screw allows for multiple
heights by simply spinning the top.

'spot table' series

the spot tables are enamel coated tables that consist of a heavy weighted base with
two different height stems with either a square or a round top. coated in heavy duty
vitreous enamel, an ultra hygienic and industrial process in which particles of glass
are sprayed on to cast iron, and then fired at furiously high temperatures.


'block table'

the block table has electroplated copper legs and granite top, flat sided, allowing tables
to be placed together in multiple configurations. the stone surface is heat resistant
and treated to minimize grease marks. there are adjustable feet to protect the floor surface
and allow for uneven floors.


'pressed glass' series

the 'pressed glass' series are available in three shapes; tube, bowl and lens.
the collection bears the sinuous marks and imperfections of the manufacturing
process.
