‘tape pot’ teapot

pepe heykoop is a dutch designer who has been featured a couple of times on designboom. his most
recent appearance was at the 2009 cologne furniture fair where he displayed his prize winning flexible
chair ‘a restless chairacter’
. heykoop has produced a number of other distinctive piece in his young
career, including the oversized lamp ‘ lightness of being’. this large floor lamp was inspired by the
movements of wilting flowers and allows full 360 degree movement. the lamp has five joints which
move fluidly to create the illusion of a fully flexible support. the shade itself is made from a thin metal
wire that is covered in a cobweb like textile. other designs include the ‘tap pot’ teapot, made from
taping two teapots together and the ‘conversations’ light sculptures.

To me his work seem like bad copies of the work of Bertjan Pot and Jurgen Bey. With some of his work the concept is an excact copy.

I'm sorry, with all my respect, but I don't see how such object could have won a prize.
