'play' children's furniture by jesper k. thomsen

play is a series of children’s furniture designed by jesper k. thomsen. the series is produced by
normann copenhagen and is part of their recently launched new danish modern collection.
the series is inspired by the slapped-together look of a child’s soapbox car and even includes
one in the collection. the pieces in the collection all demonstrate this humoristic approach with
wonky angles and a home-made aesthetic. the series features a bench, table, chair, easel and
a soapbox car all in a vivid yellow beech wood. thomsen’s concept was to create a line of
children’s furniture that was as playful as a child’s imagination. as part of normann copenhagen’s
new danish modern collection, the play series is manufactured in denmark at a local carpenter’s
shop.
