‘redmâchéshoe’ (stainless steel and leather, using the marloestenbhömer™ leather-mâché technique)

designboom recently told you about the work of designer marloes ten bhomer who is currently exhibiting
at the krannert art museum in illinois and the design museum, london. ten bhomer’s innovative take on
shoe design led us to investigate her work a little further. we discovered a  full range of couture shoes that
further demonstrated new ideas in footwear. her range of designs includes pieces made using leather-mâché,
a take on the more traditional papier-mâché and lots of carbon-fibre. while most shoes are design with
functionality and aesthetics in mind, marloes ten bhomer aims to create shoes which are ‘both provocative
and otherworldly’. using a combination of artistic creativity and technological experimentation ten bhomer
reimagines shoes in a completely new way.
