imagining a new world trade center logo
imagining a new world trade center logo

to mark the name change of 'the freedom tower' to '1 world trade center', the new york times
invited amateur and professional designers to come up with a logo for the building.

yesterday they published a number of the submitted works - while some designers took the
challenge seriously others saw it as an opportunity to make a political / social statement.
what a piece of crap work. You gotta be kiding with me...

The 'one world' logo made me laugh - sooo bad!
And how can a logo be '911'?! I know thats what people think of when the trade centre is mentioned but it shouldn't be the logo! try again

The top one is not so bad. It's not like any of these will be used anyway. In case you didn't read the article it was simply an exercise - the Times has been doing this kind of thing for a while now to generate content, Super Bowl logo, McCain logo etc.

They all suck.
The free market one either needs to be more satirical, if it's intended to be, or is terrible.

looks like the design world as fallen in mediocrity!get serious people! work for a change, and put some thought in your works. it seems today designers don't think about what they're doing, what's happening post neo modernism or something!? =D

wow. terrible.

i thought the "one world" concept was clever, especially in light of the history, but I didn't like the execution.
