message in a box by wendy plomp
cardboard is probably the cheapest industrial packaging material available on the market.
any image printed onto this throwaway material turns it into a design object;
something that can be spontaneously employed in new applications.
for example a disposable carpet that could instantly provide you with a clean space wherever you are...
to prolong the lifespan and usefulness of boxes, informative messages or ornate arabesque patterns
reminiscent of precious carpets are printed on the inside surfaces.
dutch designer wendy plomp participates in the group exhibition 'dutch invertuals' during milan
design week 09. in the exhibition, a group of independent designers from eindhoven, united by
their common vision in design, present their latest work.
the exhibition has been made possible in collaboration with the italian label verger.
the former design academy students explore familiar materials and show them out of their usual context.
location: via varese 1, moscova subway station.

Really surprising and delightful, though I would wish a bit more inventiveness had been shown with the shapes.
