naoto fukasawa + patricia urquiola: panasonic at milan design week 09

panasonic's installation, conceived this year by martino berghinz, has been thought
as an ideal forest of light.
the first two rooms showed the new lighting system by naoto fukasawa.

the new system creates a natural energy-saving illumination with low environmental impact,
due to the application of panasonic's latest technology:
self ballasted compact fluorescent lamp, spiral shape compact fluorescent lamp and LEDs.

when you lift up the bucket top, you are able to exchange the light source. it is a simple construction
but every detail has been resolved for optimum function

the inside


on the outside you see only a fine shadow ring, not the lighting fixture, which is contained inside

fukasawa chose a transparent fixture in order not to create shadows
