michael young: the 'zipte link' installation at the pawn hong kong
the zipte link system installation by michael young
michael young is showcasing one of his latest industrial innovations during
the art HK 09 hong kong international art fair. hosted by the pawn, a modern
british bar & eatery, the installation debuted on may 14 and the exhibition will
be on view until june 14, 2009.
a collaboration with chinese industrialists, the zipte link system is essentially
a table system that can be assembled into vast structures. the installation in
hong kong is the first to test the system’s potential and is a prototype. the system
is a development of previous experiments with folded paper structures which were
later produced by established and sons in great britain – young’s previous
home in the form of zipzi tables.
