this exhibition brings together 250 handcrafted objects designed by 33 international designers
and 61 artisan workshops. 'domo' pays tribute and celebrates the symbolic center of
sardinian culture, the home. for sardinians, the home is a place that has been marked by great simplicity,
but also a place that is rich in aesthetic wisdom that has been distilled over the centuries.
'domo' evokes the sardinian home, adapting it to today's ways of living, with consideration to visual trends.
it celebrates a warm, comfortable style of living with an elegance made up of history, memory
and manual skill. this 19th edition of the biennale of sardinian handicrafts thus takes on the significance
of the artisan workshop, reflecting on the past and wagering on the future through jewelry,
woven and ceramic handcrafted objects. the installation offers a key to reading the artisans'
creations by putting them in a context that accentuates their beauty and functionality.
