color picker by jinsu park
korean designer jinsu park designed a concept pen that adopts the eyedropper tool of photoshop
for real life. the color picker pen enables colors in the environment to be scanned and instantly
used for drawing. the sensor detects the color and matches it to the color display. then the RGB
cartridge located within the pen mixes the inks together to create the color that has been scanned.

Very very cool! Does it work?
Only comment is that perhaps the "body" of the pen, where the coloured field is should be white, so that the colour stands out even more. But the shape and idea is really lovely.

RGB INK?

RBG won't work on paper, that's why there is cmyk. he should look up additive and subtractive colors.

'Concept'... might suggest he/she is still working on the finer points. Keep your pants on CMYK posse!

Interesting. I ve seen something similar in the works at MIT a few years back. The difference is that it was all digital. http://web.media.mit.edu/~kimiko/iobrush/

The fact that it's still a concept doesn't apply to the RGB/CMYK problem. It's impossible to reproduce colors using RGB on paper (you can at best emulate using more cartridges). That, by no means, could be a "fine point" that he/she could work out. You should check out the additive/substractive color modes for details.
