paul martus

'early tools' bronze hammer
american designer paul martus creates furniture and products but also unique metal works. you may even
recall martus’ very literal 'hand wrench' cast in bronze, which designboom featured almost a year ago.
martus recently sent us some more examples of his work including the very similar ‘early tools’ hammer,
which uses two sculpted fists as the head of the hammer. some of his other pieces include his steel plant
rack made from threaded steel and nuts designed to hold plants as well as screw on and off the central pole.
martus also designed a series of shell chairs made using bronze and cork, interesting variations on the
common archetype.
