viktor matic's prototype 'zipit' chair comes as a low-cost, 'do-it-yourself' kit.
wooden braces, cardboard seat and backrest cushions come as separate components,
whose connections are fixed with cheap and adjustable zip-ties.

From his website:
"if i am lucky i will not become the worst graphic or product designer in the world."

If he's lucky.

But then, he doesn't use capitals in text, so who knows!

i don't know - not only that this definetly a very little durable means of connecting pieces of wood, it's not reusable either. what's the point in not using glue or screws? even the extra cost compared to zip ties would be negligeable.

Rip-off of outofstock's 'naked chair'.. agree with niq..

The 'Naked Chair' is really decent solution... I've once employ ties cables as joinery experiment in my RAW Chair ... for this pieces, if the jointing details is correct... I presume it would durable enough... the ties can be reusable, but since it Nylon66 you wouldn't be easily to recycle it...

Hey roosydinharis, I actually tested your RAW Chair at the IMM Cologne 2008 and it slanted to one side and collapsed. Have you considered that securing 2 tube-profile's together with cable-tie would be stable?

Perhaps you and Mr Matic can team up to become almost one competent designer.

Oh sorry I didn't see that you described yourself as "Industrial Designer Wannabe" on your site. I apologize. Please consider my previous comment void.

@ Chris D

Hi, yes the RAW Chair project is just a flaw... it should be strengthened with some dowel first, but didn't have time & budget, the whole design just didn't work either... let say its just for play...

Outside there tons of collapsed idea everyday... so I don't know, someone might learn something from them...

P.S: Since its really hard to be a really competence industrial designer with my skill, I'll updated my so called blog A.S.A.P & start to sell bananas...
