schindlersalmeron: f/01

despite its simple appearance, the f/01 chair by schindlersalmeron is a complex design achievable only
through the latest manufacturing techniques. the side chair is made entirely of solid wood, either european
cherry, wenge or stained beech. the form of the back legs, which run up to also support the back rest,
is what makes the chair so unique. their smooth twisted form is completely three-dimensional and thus
requires a five-axis CNC router to achieve the final form. the simple appearance recalls the hand built
furniture of the past, recreated using mass production technology. the chair can be accompanied by small
cushions on the seat in red or white.

Beautifully crafted rear legs!
Yes it looks like Jasper Morrison's but they're using different techniques. I bet most of us could tell the different between if we actually SEE the chairs.
Thats another limitation for Web 2.0 promotion. everything are being flattened.

running a cnc for this result is just pathetic waste of technology ! a cnc is good for the mock-up, wood-bending or laminating to execute the production. pls stop telling the world that by employing cnc-tec everything gets better and more unique, thats bullshit !
