ferruccio laviani: 'evolution' for emmemobili

from antique to modern

designed by ferruccio laviani for emmemobili, 'evolution' is a dresser which is characterized by
a combination of solid hand-carved oak wood and elements of contemporary design.
the evolution occurs as from one end, it shows as an antiquated piece of furniture,
but morphs into something very linear and modern.

I don't see a morph. Just half an antique and half a modern piece. Not to my taste.
Rudy   07.21.09
Yes if the transition was fluent I would have probably liked it alot. Now its interesting but just not there yet.

morph? what morph? I just see half-ugly dresser and other very ugly half-dresser

Great design.
Great idea.
The onl and the new, side by side.
Congratulations!

I love the concept but the piece doesn't flow - it's not an evolution but the forging together of 2 contrasting styles. It jars.
mikich@isleofwight   07.21.09
omg i just love it... the design is perfect....

The only disappointing thing is that the whole thing is 'new' - I wish it was an old piece given new life.
T   07.22.09
The concept is appreciable but need a better way of execution.

stunning design i like how it divides people's opinions. its daring and challenging. if you cant see the connection between the contrasting styles you are a dullard.

The Cinderella table by the Demakersvan is a good example of a morph. It is an intelligent design that creates a new sort of esthetic. Not just a boring cut and paste like 'evolution'.
Rudy   07.22.09
it's absolutely amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

great design.
Pedro Neto   07.22.09
Great concept on the intelligent side of cool It would have been so much better had the design evolved from an original piece of furniture... perhaps the transition would have been easier to realise....
