Looks like chewing gum. Is there a taste depending on the colour? I'm not sure i like it...
superjuliette 07.27.09
Cool! Where can I buy it?
Pete 07.27.09
The sheen/reflection on the rubber makes it look like Taffy to me. I like the colors, it all feels like something you would find in Wonka's factory, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

It doesn't seem to be very stable. The stability you would obtain with more points of fixation and the interlacing of the gum. To have more visual attraction it's necessary to find a better shape.
Good idea, but it needs more work.

Simple. Beautiful. Smart.
I think it functions well enough, any more "interlacing" or "points of fixation" would corrupt and over-complicate it.
And "Visual attraction" is subjective anyways. I think it has achieved a quiet, direct and playful aesthetic.
Well done Pete.

I like it! Where van you buy them?
Jeannette 07.28.09
Quite similar to Arianna Vivenvio's elastico bookshelves
Nana 07.28.09
this would look so cool on a wall consisting of a grid of those aluminium screws. making it modular in a way too, but also, a little, um, i don't really know how to put it, maybe convert the wall into a display by itself, that is constantly changing?
ViK 07.30.09
Oooh, nice. From some angles they look like holds at a rock-climbing gym.
Katy from www.unruly.ca 08.02.09
The bookshelves of Arianna Vivenzio are really original and attractive idea. The work of Pete Oyler is good, but I don't find nothing original there.
