tithi kutchamuch: reincarnation

classy pen silverware

tithi kutchamuch's latest project aims to add value and meaning to throwaway objects by casting them
in silver. kutchamuch explains 'would you throw away a gold ring that has not been worn for 10 years?
if not, why then is it so easy to throw away a plastic spoon that has been used for only 10 minutes?’
reincarnation is a collection of small objects that would normally be thrown away after only a short
period of use. the objects were cast using the ‘lost wax’ technique, through which wax models
(or in this case, the objects themselves) are immersed in plaster, the wax (object) is burnt out and metal
is poured into the resulting cavity. the set features an egg box, plastic spoon, stirrer, mouthwash bottle,
artificial flower, burger box and a stack of baking cases, all reincarnated in silver. the objects are given
a new life, hopefully kept for years instead of thrown away after one use. the classy pen was a further
development of this original series.

Bit late to the party mate, Tobias Wong did this back in 2005, thats probably where your inspiration came from ?
