swedish designers gylldorff & svalin created the varvis shelf to reflect the chaos of life. the unit consists of
a metal frame that provides the base of the bookshelf. the user then stacks the accompanying MDF and
wood boxes on the base, creating a form to suit their storage needs. the shelf has four different modules
each with a different size shape and colour. the modules can be rearranged as many times as needed in
multiple configurations.

why do young designers seem un-capable of presenting simple NEW ideas that are worth something.
The web is full opf this kind of stuff...just stuff, more stuff, and even more stuff that ends up in the garbage.
We do need a revival in our discipline, because this is depressing.

I agree. This is not original and you can easily find this kind of product in actual market .... this is the end of design ??

boring, just another one of these

I'm assuming that the above complaints have to do with this design's similarities to the Tejo Remy Chest of Drawers (1991, Droog). I agree, it's derivative and not particularly convincing. However, it does seem more like something I could use, and I like the steel base which allows the user to arrange the boxes according to individual need.

Yes. This is, and we are the end of design. Didn´t you know?
