experimental jewelry designer stephanie simek recently collaborated with musicians to create a series
of five sound lockets. the lockets are made from cassette tape ribbon, steel and silk. the cassette tape
ribbons are each recorded with original songs created for the project and wound around the steel
pendant, which hangs from the wearer’s neck by a hand dyed silk cord. each pendant has a different
song and corresponding colour. each necklace comes with a compilation cd of all fives songs by
dash! (portland, oregon, USA), gomstellet (stockholm, sweden), hexlove (portland, oregon, USA),
oomiaq (bezaudun-les-alpes, france) and stag hare (salt lake city, utah, USA). the project comes
packaged in a brown box with the cd, tracklisting card and the pendant held in a small fabric bag.
