rebecca lyddon: uview masks

tunnel vision mask

designer rebecca lyddon was asked by the design museum, london to create a london city guide that broke
away from the norm. her response consisted of a series of masks that ‘explore the way that we learn and
gain a personal understanding from our surroundings’. she focused on the way we look at things and
designed twelve masks that each have a specific mode of looking. the user chooses a mask to wear in a
location of the city and their experience is influenced by the mask’s mode of seeing. this includes a fisheye
mask, wide angle mask, tunnelvision mask and a perforated mask amongst others. here you can see some
of the masks, how they are worn and what it looks like to wear them.

Is the backpack and suitcase included in this kit to tote all these different masks around to all the different spots? Great for those tourists that try so hard to blend in.

great concept! does the way we perceive the world around us influence our decisions? I want the tunnel vision, I want that one.

Complete waste of time! Thanks for wasting our world's limited resources on this as well as everyone's time!
