hilton hotels change name and logo

hilton hotels change name and logo

this past week hilton worldwide (formerly hilton hotels corporation) unveiled its new corporate name and logo
designed by landor.

'with the addition of the word 'worldwide' the new logo unites all members of the organization across all parts
of the globe with one shared vision for success. the platinum and gold stylized H evokes quality, stature and
the richness of hilton’s heritage. the two halves are reflective, which are a reminder of the company’s storied
past and vibrant future, and the open curves are welcoming, symbolizing the world of travel by suggesting
the round edges of the globe, the arch of a bridge and posts of a bed.'

while hilton worldwide’s individual hotel brands will remain unchanged, the new look will be used in
business-to-business communications with hotel owners, the travel trade, and it will be used for the
'hilton hhonors loyalty program'.

it looks terrible, the H i mean
Alexander   09.27.09
It's kind of already better than the old one, but still it isn't nice at all. Well I guess it goes with the look of the hotels.
Ikare   09.27.09
Well, we dont see so much the H. Event if it's weak, the imprint will work by the multiplication of the support. The typo is poor. Nothing special. There's so much Helvetica Neue style logo, here's another one. We fell the royalty by the use of gold and shape of the logotype. Definitively a good strategic and communication move to position the company image in the actual market. Remember, design is something obsolete. There is classic things that can resist time, but not this one.

I think the 'H' is too sharp and spiky. It communicates for me something uncomfortable. Agree with the remarks about the typeface, not special and too trendy. Logo seems to misfit Hilton totally.

Isn't that the Dolby logo turned 90 degrees?
therris   09.28.09
it's ok, but the letters (text) and H (designed) are not compatible and spaced. I think Inside the "H" ll be empty and without color and also the "H" has to be same the strip of letters.
