sebastian bergne: looking glass carafe

liquid inside the looking glass carafe distorts your view
designer sebastian bergne has designed the 'looking glass carafe'.
the intentionally 'upside down' vessel draws directly from the adventures of alice
in wonderland, combined with the victorian era and rituals of eating.
when the carafe is placed on a table next to food, objects and guests, the liquid within
the lens shaped bottle magnifies everything seen through it, exaggerating and distorting
your view. made from borosilicate glass, the carafe is resistant to temperature
and can be used to pour or drink from.
the piece was created for the 'through the looking glass' exhibition at vendome luxury live,
paris from october 3rd to 6th, 2009.
