VIVA polish design!
I'm happy about the Polska! project to promote Polish design in UK, but we should consider, that both countries are in a similar situation.
Polish design gets more and more attention, but the problem is, that we both, designers in Poland and designers in UK, have to deal with a non fertile scene.
In both countries, there are no, or better only very few, manufacturers who collaborate with local designers. Therefore most local designers are self producing their designs and are forced to use low-cost or ready-made materials. Only Zieta and Rygalik were happy to work with Italian and Danish companies (Moroso and Hay) and you can see the results. They are the best!
I've studied in UK, and can say that the british designers work in the same manner - either 'crafty' or they collaborate with foreign producers. In UK there is NO design reality too!
so, for me it is a mystery why the Polish government's money went into the idea of promoting polish design specifically in UK?

This kind of promotion was also held in other European countries, in previous years - in Austria, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, France, and Germany.
