jung hwa jin: trash ball

'trash ball' by jung hwa jin

'trash ball' has been created by korean designer jung hwa jin. the concept combines
a trash bin and a football all in one. the outside is made from rubber and the inside
from plastic, a section is specially cut out where users can store their trash.

but why????

The trash bin ball seems silly, and if it were ever created it probably wouldn't sell.

But design isn't about making everything into a reality, it is more so about creating something new and refreshing. I believe the designer was trying to create something that can hold trash (no one wants to be a litter bug) but also not just be a little baggie that one carries around.

what happens when you kick it hard enough and your trash goes everywhere? How do you empty it when it's full? I like the idea of a portable trash can, but there are things more portable and useful than footballs.

This is a sub-standard designboom entry.

That's very korean. A bit naive but optimistic.

wow that is bad. I would prefer to put my rubbish in a bag and play football with a ball instead of combining the two. Who ever wants to play with a rubbish bin? Surely the two activities should be kept seperate, especially for children.

We definitely need to be concerned about the environment issues as people recently dump garbage everywhere indiscreetly.

I guess we all have experienced throwing trash somewhere else because we could not find any trash cans around. It is impossible for us to carry trash cans.

If there is a clean and unique shape of trash can nearby, it will be easier for people to recognize it.

I like the fact it looks like the family are taking their trash on vactaion with them!

The children play with the bin? if this bin is designed just for putting paper. if would suitable to use at home . This idea goes too far .
