jonathan sabine: array
jonathan sabine: array

the dishes can be used as individual candle holders
array is a combination candle holder and dish designed by jonathan sabine. each of the dishes
can be stacked into a customizable candelabra. through array, sabine explored the process of
sand casting. both the asymmetrical form of the candle holder and the mechanical relationship
(close fit, arrayed from a central axis) between pieces when stacked are derived from the types
of parts that are traditionally made using this process. here, sabine has deliberately left the
sand-textured surface and part lines to reveal the idiosyncrasies of the sand casting process.
array is cast in aluminum and is available in a black or white powder coat finish.
