'scaffold vase'

UK design studio freshwest displayed 3 new products; 'scaffold vase', 'lazy chair'
and 'verdigris table' at tent london during london design week 09.

miniature gold plated components were developed to make the 'scaffold vase' that
contains over 3500 parts.  symmetry and repartition played a vital role
in determining the form of a traditional chinese vase.

'lazy chair'

taking on the form from the original collapsing chair whose rounded joints were
designed and developed purely for function  (the shape of the rounded components
were essential for the collapsing chair to reassemble itself), in an ironic way this is
form following function.

'verdigris' table

verdigris is the name for the green coating or patina formed when copper is weathered
and exposed to air over a period of time. this table made from a spun copper top
and solid legs is designed for indoor or outdoor use.
