patricia urquiola: log sofa for artelano

designer patricia urquiola created the new log sofa for the french furniture maker artelano. the design is
a part of the larger log series produced by the company. the sofa features a cushion seat with loose
pillows along the backrest and arms, all of which sit on a wooden frame. the backrest has a distinctive
beam which wraps around the whole sofa, matching the style of the log series. the cushions all feature
sewn details and materials which barrow from men’s clothing. the sofa’s structure is made from solid
beech which has been worked and lathed to create the design’s stocky figure. the log sofa comes in
a natural varnish and black lacquer finish.
