emiliano godoy: 'camouflage' armchair and 'flex' coffee table
mexican designer emiliano godoy is presenting his two new designs, 'camouflage' armchair
and 'flex' coffee table for pirwi at design miami 09. the mexican company uses wood boards
and veneers from sustainably harvested wood. all pieces are completed non-toxic
and biodegradable
finishes.
'camouflage' armchair
'camouflage' is a low armchair made from oriented strand board(OSB).
the material is surfaced with a stained-black veneer, and has over-sized lateral panels that
partly hide the user. these panels feature a carved camouflage pattern that emphasize the
trench-like character of the piece, but at the same time expose the OSB beneath.

'flex' coffee table
the 'flex' coffee table has seating and tabletop surfaces made from thin strips of maple plywood.
by twisting and bending these thin elements a rigid structure is created, which although
strong is both visually and physically lightweight. the new coffee table features a stretched
pattern of undulating lines that support a thin glass top. the slender legs of the table are recessed,
adding to the visual lightness of the piece.
